At one time, we had not one, but three Mrs. Jones’s working with us. Here’s a tale of three Jones’s and what they wore!
Maria Jones (a childhood friend of mine and a facialist per excellence) was recruited to help open and run our bridal accessories boutique back when we started to expand in Islington. Her eye for detailed styling and interiors was an infinite inspiration. Always creating beautiful vignettes with our treasures and keeping us organised in the Angel boutique.
Maria wed her fiancé jazz saxophonist @edjonessax in 2006. As Jane and I were very close friends with Maria and knowing her style, we spotted a perfect dress for her on a buying trip to @pronovias Barcelona and sure enough she adored it and it became the one!
Just a little customisation was needed, with the addition of a detachable chiffon wrap, arranged in a wrapped cowl across her décolleté ( save the priest blushes ) .
The wedding was beautifully planned by Maria with memorable personal touches. At the end on the speeches we all had a copy the words to ‘Me and Mrs Jones’ which we dutifully sang at the top of our voices!

Maria and Ed married at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church followed by a reception and party @fredericks
Their ‘golden crowns’ for the Greek Orthodox service where customised from hand wired organic leaf and pearl lengths from Halo and Co as was the crystal bouquet.
Rebecca Grover Jones, our very own Mirror Mirror ‘womble’ (for those of you old enough to remember) had always had recycling and salvaging at her creative core, way before it was a fashion.
She joined me from our Crouch End boutique, when we opened at Angel Islington over fifteen years ago. She loves nothing more than styling a bride, often in something quite unexpected and completing the look with one of her eco friendly hand crafted @dolecka headdresses.
As a lead guitarist (another of her talents) Becca found her Mr. Piano man @matt to play out life’s harmonies.
Becca, true to form, made her own dress in black satin found in an Islington market – well she’s rock and roll afterall! All of their family pulled together to create a diy day of wonderful food, family, fun and talented friends providing the entertainment.
In ‘normalcy’ you will find Becca in the boutique on Fridays and Saturdays.

Becca and Matt married in 2007 at Islington Town hall followed by a reception at the former ‘Music Palace’, Crouch End.
Andrea Elsby Jones (pre children) had been our manageress at the Angel boutique.
Wedding plans were on the go, but suddenly an earlier date for both the venue and church had become available and Andrea got busy planning her wedding for March 2012. With only ten weeks to go and a couture dress to create, much excitement was buzzing around the boutique with having our own ‘in house’ Mirror Mirror bride.
Lots of ideas were flying around the workrooms with the making of Andrea’s couture wedding dress. It was indeed a bit of a surprise to see the most seasoned bridal professional, turn into an obsessed ‘bridezilla’ micromanaging every detail of the process which had involved at some stage most of the MM team. The results where stunning. Suffice to say, she returned to her usual calm and collected self after, so there’s hope for everyone.
You can benefit from Andreas’ incredible and broad knowledge on all things bridal by booking in an appointment on a Monday (from 2nd Dec. on) She is also a bridal Hair and MUA expert and you can find her @missythebride
Andrea and Adrian married at The Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Basingstoke followed by a reception at The Elvetham Hartley Witney.
